About Me
Hi, I’m Raine (she/her), a designer based in Austin, TX.
My journey in design began at the University of Texas at Austin, where I unexpectedly fell in love with design after taking an introductory class at the School of Design and Creative Technologies. I originally majored in English with plans to go to law school — but design makes me infinitely happier.
I’ve been making art for as long as I can remember and started taking traditional art commissions while earning my Bachelor of Arts in English and a certificate in Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship, which I completed in 2021.
Since graduating, I’ve chased my dream of becoming a brand and web designer with relentless passion. I taught art at Cordovan Art School in 2021 and worked as a visual designer at Modernize Home Services from 2022 to 2024.
In 2024, I took the leap to leave the corporate world behind and focus on contract work and growing my own design business. I’m entirely self-taught in design, and I’m proud of how far that drive has taken me — from collaborating with tech companies to healthcare startups, I thrive on learning something new with every project. Through my studio, Rainey Day Design, I’ve reimagined websites and crafted brand identities for small businesses that want to make a big impact.
Most days, you’ll find me in a coffee shop, iced latte in hand, deep in the zone on whatever project has captured my attention.
Today, I work as a freelance UX and visual designer offering brand design, UX design, and web design services. I absolutely love what I do — I geek out over thoughtful design systems and the technical finesse that brings a brand to life. Whether it’s fine-tuning micro-interactions on a website or designing a logo that tells a story, I’m all about the details.
I don’t believe in boxing myself into one label — at heart, I’m a creative problem solver. Every project is a chance to think critically, stay curious, and build something meaningful.
